This
is one of those ghost pictures where you have to look hard for
a bit and then suddenly you see the ghost and you can't stop looking.
This was an innocent picture taken on Christmas in the 1980's.
It wasn't until after the pictures came back that one of the family
members looked at the picture and saw that there was a man in
the suit standing in the doorway. Their family picture turned
into a ghost picture. None of the family know who the ghost belongs
to but maybe he just didn't want to be alone on Christmas.

This ghost
picture was taken in 1891 at the Combermere Abbey library in Cheshire
in England. Lord Combermere died in 1891 after being killed in a
horse and cart accident. This ghost picture was taken at the very
moment his funeral was being held miles away. Yet, you can clearly
see him sitting in the chair. The photographer reported that all
of his family were attending the funeral so it was impossible for
the person in the photo to be any of them. Making this a very old
ghost picture, indeed. |

England is
a real hot spot for early ghost pictures. After all, with as much
history that England has there is bound to be a ghost or two hanging
around. This ghost picture was taken in Greenwich, England in the
Queen's House portion of the National Maritime Museum. Many royals
were born and spent time in this house so there would have been
a lot of people moving around the house when it was in active service.
This ghost picture was taken in 1966 by a clergyman from Canada.
The ghost is holding onto the railing of the staircase that is known
as the Tulip Staircase. |

In 1959,
Mabel Chinnery decided to pay a visit to her mother's grave. As
many people do, she decided to take pictures of the grave and also
took a picture of her husband who was waiting for her in the car.
He was on his own in the car but when the ghost picture was developed
Mabel was amazed to see her mother sitting in the back seat of the
car. |

One of
the more recent ghost picture but it looks older than it really
should look. This is because this ghost picture was taken in Boothill
Graveyard in Arizona. This is the part of the country that would
have seen action between the likes of the Earps and Doc Holiday.
The photographer had taken his friend and dressed him in 1880's
clothing in attempt to take a black and white 'period' photo.
After the film was developed they noticed the man in the background.
The photographer swears there was nobody else in the graveyard
other than him and the subject of the photograph. It almost look
as if the ghost in the ghost picture is on lookout and was watching
the pair closely to make sure they stayed in line.

Wem Town
Hall in Shropshire in England was built in the early 1900's but
sadly in 1995 there was a fire and the building was burned to
the ground. One of the people from the town grabbed his camera
and took pictures of the historical event that was taking place
in front of him. When he looked at the pictures later he clearly
saw an image of the a little girl standing in a door way of the
burning building. The heat from the fire would have made it too
warm for an living child to be in the property. In his search
to find out who the girl in his ghost picture might be the photographer
discovered that in 1677 a large portion of Shropshire had been
destroyed by fire when a blaze was sparked off in the timber houses
of the time. According to legend a little girl called Jane Churm
was thought to have been the person that started the fire when
her candle set a thatched roof on fire. It is now thought by many
that it the ghost of Jane Churm that appears on this ghost picture.

This is another
recent ghost picture. It was taken in 1991 at the Bachelor's Grove
cemetery located in a suburb of Chicago. The cemetery has long been
thought to be one of most haunted graveyards in the world. Due to
this it was the location of a ghost hunt evening on this night in
1991. With the exception of the people on the ghost hunt, the cemetery
was empty but when the photos were developed the image of this woman
was seen sitting on a grave. She was dressed in very out of date
clothing and was certainly not a member of the group. |

This railway
crossing in San Antonio, Texas was the scene of a horrific accident
where a number of school children were killed. Ever since then the
ghosts of the children have been said to wander up and down the
tracks. One of the locals was able to capture this image one night.
The ghost in the ghost picture is certainly that of a child. |

Reverend
Lord took this ghost picture of a ghost at the alter of Newby Church
in Yorkshire, England. The ghost picture was taken in 1963 and despite
many investigations by photography experts it has yet to be shown
to be anything but a real ghost picture. |

The 17 year
old daughter of an an Australian woman died in 1945. On a visit
to her daughter's grave in 1947 the mother took a picture of the
grave and was shocked to find the image of a baby sitting on her
daughter's grave. She had no idea how she had managed to take a
ghost picture of who the child would be. To her best memory there
wasn't anyone else around the grave but herself. Some time later,
in 1990 a paranormal expert visited the area and found that there
were the graves of two babies located next to the grave of the 17
year old. Maybe they just wanted to come out and play. In the end
they showed up on a ghost picture and get to live forever. |
